Health
Health (also called Hitpoints or HP) is a combat skill that determines how much damage you can take before dying. Every player begins at Health level 10.
How Health Works
Your maximum HP matches your Health level, so a new character with Health level 10 has 10 maximum HP. Raising Health increases the damage you can survive.
Gaining Experience
Health XP is earned passively during combat. Dealing damage awards Health XP alongside the offensive skill you are using, while incoming hits can award Health XP when they actually damage you.
Restoring Health
Food
The primary way to restore Health is by eating Food. Cooked fish are the most common healing items; the Food guide lists every food and its healing value.
Natural Regeneration
Lost HP gradually regenerates over time. Food and regeneration potions restore it more quickly when you cannot wait.
Death
If your Health reaches zero, you die. Active combat and Brewing effects end, then you respawn at the main spawn point with your Health fully restored.
Training Tips
- Train through combat: Health XP arrives alongside ordinary offensive and defensive combat.
- Choose manageable enemies: Fight opponents that can damage you without overwhelming your food supply.
- Carry food: Keep enough healing available for the trip back as well as the fight.
- Heal early: Do not wait until the next hit could defeat you.
Combat Level
Health improves survivability but does not directly set the displayed Combat Level. Combat Level follows your highest offensive combat skill: Melee, Archery, or Magic.
