Fletching

Fletching is a production skill for making Archery equipment and useful wood products. At a fletching bench, players can turn flax into string, logs and feathers into shafts, shafts and metal bars into bolts, and logs, limbs, and string into crossbows.

Getting Started

Visit Rowan near the fletching bench. Rowan's Fletching Shop stocks feathers, flax, string, and starter crossbow limbs.

Fletching draws materials from several skills:

• Foraging supplies Flax Plant for string.
• Woodcutting supplies logs for shafts, mulch, and crossbow stocks.
• Smithing supplies metal bars and crossbow limbs.
• Rowan sells Feather and starter materials.

Select Fletch on a fletching bench, choose a recipe and quantity, and let the queued crafting action run until it finishes or materials run out.

Shafts

Bolts are made in batches of 15. Each batch uses 15 matching shafts and one metal bar.

Crossbows

Every crossbow requires two matching logs, one matching set of metal limbs, and one String.

Crossbow limbs are made at an anvil from one matching metal bar. Their Smithing levels are 1, 16, 31, 46, 61, and 76 from Bronze through Emberite.

Mulch

Mulch is made from logs and used in Farming to increase soil water retention. Higher tiers provide more mulch power per item.

Training Tips

1. Levels 1-15: Make String, then move to Birch Shafts and Birch Mulch.
2. Levels 15-33: Fletch Bronze Bolts, a Bronze Crossbow, and then Oak products as they unlock.
3. Levels 33-59: Progress through Iron and Mithril crossbows while using shaft and bolt recipes between major unlocks.
4. Levels 59-81: Use Adamant and Viridium recipes; mulch offers a fast way to process spare logs.
5. Levels 81+: Emberite Bolts and Crossbows give the highest XP per craft.
6. Plan complete batches: One bolt craft needs exactly 15 shafts, while shaft recipes above Birch produce extra shafts for later batches.
