Farming
Farming is a production skill for growing crops on a personal farm plot. Plant seeds, spores, or saplings, care for the soil, and harvest the finished produce for Farming XP.
Getting Started
Talk to Farmer Joe near his cows to rent your first farm plot for 250 Gold. His shop, Farmer Joe's Tools, has the starter tools and low-level seeds you need.
For your first crop, bring a
Garden Hoe, a
Watering Can, some
Compost, and
White Mushroom Spores.

Farming Loop
- Clear the tile with a
Scythe for weeds and shrubs or a pickaxe for rocks. - Till the soil with a
Garden Hoe. - Plant a seed, spore, or sapling on the tilled tile.
- Care for the crop with water, compost, and mulch as needed.
- Inspect the crop and use
Plant Tonic if it becomes diseased. - Harvest the mature crop, then till the tile again before replanting if the crop has died.
Soil and Crop Care
- Watering fills the soil's available water storage.
- Compost improves crop growth and harvest yield. Buy it from Farmer Joe or make it from harvested crops and fruit at a Food Grinder.
- Mulch helps soil retain water. It is made from logs through Fletching, with higher wood tiers providing stronger mulch.
- Inspect shows the crop's current condition. Diseased crops can be treated with
Plant Tonic before harvest.
The farm limits how many crops can be active at once. If a clear, tilled tile will not accept another seed, harvest some existing crops before planting more.

Training Tips
- Plant the newest crop you can maintain: Higher-level crops generally award more XP but take longer to grow.
- Use compost: It improves both crop growth and harvest yield.
- Keep tonic nearby:
Plant Tonic can save a diseased crop before harvest. - Prepare several tiles together: Tilling, planting, and watering in groups makes farm visits quicker.
- Expect longer tree cycles: Tree crops provide large XP drops but occupy more space and take considerably longer.
